Title: From Visual Attention to Immersive Graphics: The Role of Human Perception in Intelligent Realities
Veronica Sundstedt is Professor of Computer Science at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden, where she explores how human-centered computing can inform the design of adaptive, intelligent XR applications. Her research encompasses perception-based rendering, eye-tracking-driven techniques, and applications of human-centered computing, integrating perceptual insights into computer graphics, visualization, and immersive systems. She leads the HINTS project funded by the Knowledge Foundation (KKS) in Sweden, which aims to develop concepts, principles, methods, algorithms, and tools for human-centered intelligent realities. In close collaboration with industrial partners and society, the project seeks to pioneer future immersive, user-aware, and smart interactive digital environments. As a project partner with three other universities, she recently helped secure strategic funding from KKS to establish a national Game Development Research Centre (GDRC) in Sweden.
